The Project "Participación Sindical en los Procesos Migratorios" (Trade Union Participation in Migration Processes) was developed in Spain, Ecuador and Colombia from 2001 to 2004. It aims at involving Trade Unions in migratory processes in order to foster their contribution to the development of the countries of origin through the creation of the mechanisms necessary for a coordinated management of migratory fluxes. Labour is considered as the fundamental axis of assistance in migratory processes due to the importance that labour has for the social integration of individuals.
