The Centre for Equal Opportunities and Opposition to Racism is an autonomous public service, established by an act of Parliament on 15 February 1993, to fight racism and xenophobia and to follow through integration policy for persons of foreign origin. Since a law of February 25 in 2003, the Centre was given wider-ranging tasks and power to fight discrimination on the grounds of race, national or ethnic origin, colour of skin, religion or belief, present our future health condition, disability or physical characteristic, age, wealth, birth, sexual orientation or civil status. The Centre for Equal Opportunities and Opposition to Racism assists victims of discrimination.
